Is your period late? Have you noticed unusual symptoms?
No matter what your reason is for wanting to take a pregnancy test, you are welcome to do so at Lifeline.
We provide:
We understand that you may want to know whether you are pregnant right away, but we recommend you wait until the week after your missed period before taking the test. Failure to do so may result in a false negative and you having to take another test later on.
When you schedule a pregnancy test at Lifeline, a Registered Nurse on staff will perform the test. You are welcome to bring someone with you or to come on your own.
If this is your first appointment at Lifeline and you are feeling a little nervous, you can read what to expect during our time with us.
You’ll receive the results of your test immediately. Whether the result is positive or negative, our nurse can provide you with information about what comes next. She will discuss with you all your options, including parenting, adoption, and abortion.
If the test is positive, you’ll receive:
We may be able to perform a limited obstetrical ultrasound to give you even more information about your pregnancy (such as gestational age and location). If you have a positive pregnancy test in our clinic, Lifeline is also able to provide a letter that verifies pregnancy. This no-cost documentation can be used to apply for state health insurance and other services such as the Special Supplementation Nutrition “WIC” program.
If the test is negative:
You will receive information about the next steps as well as suggested counseling on how to stay healthy and avoid unexpected pregnancy. You’ll have the option to retest at a later date if necessary.
No matter your current situation, whether this potential pregnancy was planned or not, our team of caring nurses and staff members are here for you. What you will find coming to Lifeline is support and a warm environment free of judgment.
Lifeline does not provide or refer for abortions.
